Lean, Six Sigma, both are aspects of a Total Quality Management System. In 1986, I fortunate to be part of the team who translated then implemented, the “Japanese Union of Scientist’s and Engineers” recommendations, to Florida Power & Light. Those recommendations applied resulted in (FP&L) in four years transitioning from the 17th best utility in America into Being Recognized as the Best Managed Company in America.

My vision is “to be recognized as the consultant that utilizes AI to make innovation and continuous improvement easier, enabling client companies to achieve a competitive advantage over their competitors”.

Michael Carson is a senior consultant, Master Black Belt focused on utilizing Artificial Intelligence to simplify the implementation of a Management System, that inspires employee engagement, provides the Management Team the tools to set the correct direction, then recognize and reward the accomplishment of the goals required to demonstrate they are the best managed provider in their industry.

I work with companies of all sizes, in any industry, providing business leaders with the proven systems and structures, required to inspire all employees to be the best in their industry at identifying then satisfying all their customer’s requirements.

I partner with Maximum Potential to provide educators with daily lesson plans to teach and apply, current problem solving methods to current problems identified by educators and students to improve their high schools, tech schools, and colleges.

Many firms offer lean Six Sigma Training and business consultancy services. Lean Six Sigma has been utilized by business leaders for the past 35 years, proving it is not the flavor of the month. I was fortunate to begin my Career learning directly from the JUCE councilors, who agreed to reintroduced the same Management System utilized to rebuild the Japanese industrial base destroyed during the 2nd world war. The same system the Toyota Company improved upon and used to surpass the world in customer’s perception of value, translated into increased market share and profits.

Few consultant can claim they learned the hard way, understanding both what worked and more importantly what did not work through their companies transition from average, to the recognized best in 4 short years. Lessons learned directly from the scientist and engineers responsible for the Lexus and Sony success and considered best in their industries.

About Me

Michael Carson

Michael, a Six Sigma Master Black Belt, learned continuous improvement, during Florida Power and Light’s quest for the Deming Prize. He led his first team, through the problem solving process and was awarded the FPL’s Presidents Cup.

He also built his quality in daily work, statistical process management system, before personal computers were widely available, coached by the JUSE Councilors on their smoke breaks. (true story)

He was one of the original consultants recruited to teach corporate America how to implement a Total Quality Management system.

FP&L started Qualtec Quality Services, to satisfy the agreement to share the learning applied, during our 4 year challenge and subsaquent winning of the 1989 Deming Quality award, the first non Japanese company to win the award.

He has planned and implemented Quality management systems in 33 client organisions including government, service and manufacturing “It just made sense”, and “the process works” were his mantra.

Michael joined MaxPT to pass his learning on to companies as well as students in schools, his new mantra is “to create a generation of problem solvers”.

Michael has the entire MaxPT team behind him and the MaxPT materials and courses are available for licensing.

High School Lean Six Sigma

Join us to “Create a generation of problem solvers.” Our Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt and Green Belt Certification Curriculum for High School students includes robust training, a train-the-trainer process, web-tools and a digital material license. We’ve certified 100’s of teachers in Ohio. Our system and approved trainers have certified almost 1,000 yellow and green belts to date (1/2020). We were the first company in the US to train and certify High School students in Lean Six Sigma.
